Africa

Considering Africa's place in today's globalised world, many questions come to our minds. Questions which are aimed to be answer from an interdisciplinary perspective that will allow us overcome the limits of pure "hobbesian" analysis towards one where the economic, social political and ethnic elements converge in a much more harmonious way. Giving special importance to the Argentinean position we wonder: which is the Argentinean interest towards the African continent? Which are the similarities among the African continent and Argentina? Therefore, we will study the diplomatic relations - or lack of- between Argentina and the African states. We shall identify the opportunities that those African countries offer in terms of developing a foreign economic policy towards Latin America as a whole and Argentina in particular. We will also take as an object of study the challenge that involves the diversification of Argentineans foreign relations beyond the European and American countries.

It will also be of this area`s concern studying the creation of common interests among the Southern countries against the Northern in such areas as trade, commercial negotiations, suppression of trading barriers, creations of a committee of dialogue about certain specific topics of common interest, as well as commercial, cultural and academic exchange
The XXI century, for us, moves into a confrontational scenario among regional areas, with artificial regional identities and the use of force as evidence by today's facts/events
